I turn to my ED because it’s all I know. I know the face of Bulimia: it’s ugly and evil but it’s a known enemy. I can fight on this battlefield, because I know it.
While, on the other hand, recovery or just “a normal life” are just unknown terrain. I tried to walk on it once and I found out it’s full of mines and other traps.
So I just stay with Bulimia.
